Ella!

Today was Ella's second birthday, which she celebrated with a party in the garden and lots of chocolate cake. Ella was given a stupendous number of presents, including a tricycle from her godmother Anna, lots of books, Lego, clothes, dolls, bath toys, an easel and even another CD-Rom. She blew out her candles, with help from Mummy, and her cake included depictions of yellow taxis, dinosaurs, foxes, crabs, kites and other Ella favourites. "Ella is two!" she says proudly. Also this week Ella has been eating medicinal jelly beans whenever she hurts herself (even the slightest bump, it seems, is cause for another jelly bean). She went on a boat trip to the Thames Barrier with Kell. She has been using new words, including "luckily" (which she sticks arbitrarily on to the beginning of sentences about herself), "maybe", "but" and "after". And she seems finally to be getting the hang of the difference between "my" and "your".
