Inspired by her book Platypus, about a platypus who collects things, Ella has started collecting things too. She has a feather collection (kept in a plastic bag), a lollipop collection (safely sealed in a tin) and a postcard collection (stuck to her door). She is also getting good at recognising cars: long able to spot an Audi at 100 paces, she now recognises the VW, BMW and Mercedes logos too. (There are other kinds of car in the street, but Ella is unimpressed by Vauxhalls, Hondas and Peugeots.) Also this week Ella rode her scooter in the park, saw a clown, played Poohsticks in Pooh Country, and ate rice and curry. Ellisms of the week include "a couple of", as in "We want a couple of lollipops", and "millilins and billilins and trillilins" which, as Carl Sagan fans will be aware, means "lots", and refers to the number of jelly beans Ella would like to eat.
