Ella!

Ella is now asking even more questions, and has moved on from "Oh! What's yat?" and "Oh! What's yat dinosaur called?" to her new favourite question: "What's yat made of?". This has entailed learning about wood, metal, plastic, and so on. The front door is made of wood, but the letterbox is made of metal. Ella has concluded that she is made of sausage, and given the number of sausages she eats, she may have a point. Other popular words are "everybody", "nothing" (what Ella sometimes says she wants to eat) and "really", as in "It's really bathtime now". And when Ella gets out of the bath, she says she is "wobbling" (shivering). Perhaps the most useful word Ella has learned recently is "cos". When asked why she doesn't like squirrels, for example, she says "Cos they are scary". Ella also says "apparently", "in a minute" and "most of the time", but not always in the idiomatically correct context. As well as all this talking, this week Ella wore her pyjamas to the park and watched the sunset, ate an entire bowl of edamame ("peas") at Wagamama ("in Wawa-mama") all by herself ("all by yourself"), had lots of fun with a Dr Seuss CD-Rom ("Ella's new vid-ee-doe") and made some excellent dinosaur cookies. Ella also looked at pictures of "Wih-me-lin" on his web page, one of which made her exclaim: "Oh, no! Wih-me-lin in a wash-din machine!"
